The Moment Space Comes into Being: Marion Piper: LUX at Cromer Artspace, June 2023

I’m delighted to have written the exhibition text, The Moment Space Comes into Being, for Marion’s upcoming solo exhibition, LUX, at Cromer Artspace on the Prom. LUX is the presentation of a drawing cycle, comprising sixty works on paper each measuring 76 c 56 cm. The drawings begin with a soft pencil drawn grid. Grey washes and colourful geometric forms are intuitively worked across the surfaces. Installed unframed along the length of the pavilion, parallel to the horizon, the works themselves invite a promenade, and explore the emergence of space. The text will be available at www.marionpiper.com and here on my Critical Writing page to coincide with the exhibition opening on 15 June.
